Our third annual STEM fair has been rescheduled from 1/7/2017 to Tuesday 1/17/2017. This will be held during school hours from 8:30 am until 1:00 pm for students whom received an invitation. Please ensure that your scholar comes to school on this day and is dressed professionally for their final round of presentations for the judges.

If you are interested in volunteering to judge please complete the form in the link below. Remember that our parents are one of the reasons why CMIT Elementary is a great place to learn and grown. We need your support to make this event successful.

Field Trip to Port Discovery

This is just a reminder that we are going on our field trip to Port Discovery on Friday, November 18, 2016.  If you have not yet turned in your field trip money, please do so as soon as possible.  Also, if you want to chaperone, please remember to turn in your background check/fingerprints to Ms. Powers in the front office.  All chaperones will need to pay $25.00 to attend and may possibly have to drive themselves.  We will know how many chaperone seats are available on the bus by Monday, November 14.

Field Trip

First grade will be going on a field trip on Tuesday, October 25, 2016.  We will be going to Sharp’s Farm.  The cost for the field trip is $20.00 per student.  If you would like to chaperone, the cost is also $20.00 per chaperone.  Parents interested in being a chaperone need to have their fingerprints submitted to the front office before Tuesday.

Please return the field trip and money as soon as possible.  If anyone needs help with payment, please contact the front office.

  • Students are not supposed to bring medicine to school (unless to drop it off with the front office.)  Student are NOT permitted to take medicine or cough drops in class.  Please DO NOT send your child with these things to school.
  • Please make sure that students are completing their homework.  Homework reviews concepts that we are learning, as well as previously learned concepts.  Homework is essential!!!
  • Students should be reading at least 20 minutes a day.  We read often in school during groups and independent reading time.  It is very important for children to practice their reading.
  • Apple day is on Thursday, September 29, 2016.  Students will have fun tasting apples, using apple stamps, and making apple crafts.  A sign up and permission slip for this event will be sent to you soon.  All parent volunteers must have their fingerprints/background checks completed and turned into the office.
